So tomorrow I'm supposed to go see the dark knight with Kett, Mar and some people. I'm excited for that, a night out with people who I can have intelligent conversations with. YEAH!

Marilee is getting married! Bam!!! All of sudden I get this invite and it's like. Hey! Give me your email so I can give you info on MY WEDDING.

I was like, WOAH! WHAT! AND WHO! But it's this guy who dresses up like Spike from Cowboy Bebop. So I already approve, hehe.

---

And now. I get existential on your asses. I dont want to die. Straight up, its my greatest fear. Im sure as time goes on I'll learn to accept that death is just a part of life. But for now, I literally live in fear sometimes that I'm doing to die from ANYTHING. And I hate that. Especially since its prophesied that the world is going to end in about 4 years. Yeah, that's so not awesome. Ill be 22 and dying.

My grandmother is a minister, and her messages whenever she preached always talked about death, dying, or the rapture. And it ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS freaked me out.

---

Now Im going to go to bed and have a nightmare. Because thats how my brain works, and i hate it.

WHo else had a good day?

So, um... did anybody else catch the finale of avatar.

Im not sure if it was the series finale or the season finale. I mean, they left it at a cliffhanger with a couple of unanswered questions. But they definitley finished Aang's story.

*sigh*... it was soooooooo good. Like, oh man. Things I didn't think were going to happen, like at all, totally happened.

AND WHO ELSE LOVED HOW THEY HANDLED AZULA!

I really like the Cristy T icons that I made. [Jul. 18th, 2008|11:05 pm]
So. My next venture into the world of psuedo-journalism contiues very soon as I interview the other half of the toonami creators. Sean Akins.

This interview... hm. Im probably less nervous than my Jason Demarco interview. However, I've set a standard for myself. Do I suprass it? I can only hope. One thing Im worried about for sure, the questions that I'm getting from the toonami fan forums. Im not comfortable with alot of them.

But I have a duty to toonami, myself, and my fellow faithful. :D

ONWARD!

week 1: New things. [Jul. 17th, 2008|11:07 am]
So. Ive got one more class for the week and then Im good to go.

Monday was Art History: Baroque to Contemporary. A snooze-fest that I know for sure I am going to get an A in. Before that I work in the lab from 8 to 11 am. Not a bad day, and the free time after class gives me the time to do homework for that right away.

Tuesday was Digital Typography. I'm excited to learn illustrator. However I am far less excited to be in a class with Lou. And I'm also a little shocked at how few people are in that class with me. Like 7 of us. But I like that it's in the annex. :D

Wednesday is probably going to be my favorite day of the week. At 7:35 am I have Structure, Form and Proportion. A class I am really looking forward to. 12:30 I have 2D animation principles. I am already inlove with this class, two or three weeks from now i may not say the same thing. But I havent been that hyped up for a class... ever. We animated a bouncing ball yesterday. I went through 120 pages. And I loved every second of it. I dont work that day. Thank the lord.

Thursday. Morning office shift, and then I have Drawing and Anatomy at 12:30. Ill edit this later with my opinion of drawing and anatomy. But i can already tell that this morning shift 'o mine is not going to work. haha. Maybe Ill get used to it. But my sleeping had already shifted. Im tried by 1 and Im up by 7, 8ish.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: Easy days. A sporadic run of shifts in the lab and inbetween that, chill time for me to catch up on work, work out, hang with peeps, etc.

I think I got a good weekly schedule going on. I have open nights for programs, etc. My weekends are a bit weird, but I can work around that. Although Ive got one thing going for sure.

No time for a man. Hahaha. I should be cringing inside, but Im cool because I got my peeps, my work and my money. ;)

A post worth writing [Jun. 29th, 2008|06:49 pm]
I havent had much to post about in a bit. A lot has happened during the break, but I think i have a topic I can talk about.

I love when a tv show, animated or live-action, can have such conviction in the story. To the point where I really begin to worry about a character, thats when i know something is good.

Example: Rahxephon.

I love that series, a lot of people have labeled it as a new-age Evangelion. I don't agree because those are two entirely different stories. But I'm watching the episode, Blue Friend. I've seen this episode probably 10 or 20 times and it still gets me. Essentially our Protagonist, Ayato Kamina, is now a fugitive in his home of Tokyo. So he brings along an old friend. Asahina Hiroko. Asahina is secretley in love with him, but he knows that. However, she think he doesnt know her blood has become blue. Ayato is fully aware of it though.

let me make something clear. In tokyo, the citizens are known as Mulians. They are humans that have connections to dolems, these big mecha-type monsters. When someone's blood turns blue, they loose their memories and are then ruled by their Mulian instincts. Asahina noticed it happened to people. And when it happened to her she didnt want to believe it.

I find the ending to this episode to be a steamroller of emotions that just runs over me. When Ayato goes to fight off Asahina's Dolem, because she is connected to it she feels all of the pain the Dolem feels. Her arm is snapped, and the entire time she's trying to write him a goodbye note because she knows this is the end of her. She can't even do that though because she's dying. Oh god.

Just watch for yourself. You dont even need to understand the dialouge though. It's clear.

Jeez..

I didnt know it rained so much in hell... [Jun. 19th, 2008|08:07 am]
I'm not even gonna go into my day yesterday. Too much. Maybe Ill elaborate a little bit on Matt's graduation. First off I'm proud to say Matt is now a high school graduate. I'm too excited for him and his future. Although his graduation was more than a struggle.

We got to the field around 6:30-ish. We were ready for him to get his diploma and bounce. I see graduation as something more for the parents than the students. I mean, I was not hyped to be sitting on the soggy field for an hour listening to crap I don't remember. It seems like its a celebration for the parents, which is nice because after 17/18 years of raising your child this is the culmination into adulthood. Nice job public school system, here is where this particular graduation got fucked up.

It started to drizzle at 6:45 and we dealt with it. All of us had our umbrellas. Except for Kristina and myself. She ran to the car to get her umbrella along with Mr/Mrs. Esparra's umbrella. When she got back the rain was horrendous. Seriously, that was some silly shit. We didn't find out until like 7:10 that the ceremony would be postponed until 7:30, it was supposed to start at seven. All of us were sopping wet. Us includes: Kristina, Kim, Kim's finace, Ashley, Ashley's daughter, Grandam Esparra, various Esparra family members, and myself. It was silly. But kind of fun. Kristina and I had a ball.

Once the ceremony actually started, it became a scream fest of who's graduating student was most important. Clearly we won, and mainly because of our numbers. Kristina and I did see a few student who we were proud of. Deana, the original Kristina and Ty creation. We molded her into a classy young vixen. And from Kristina's report home girl was vicious at prom. hehe. :D

Another problem with graduation was the speeches. The board of education was kind of bias and twisted with what they let the students get away and not get away with.

Jerome. Class president of 2008. His speech was entirely dedicated to the struggle of African Americans and his promotion for barrack obama. Almost all of the families at that graduation made it clear that it was not the time or the place for him to advertise Barrack. Whether he was a supporter or not, his speech was supposed to reflect on his peers and their future. Not why hes supporting obama and his struggle as a black young man.

Aaron's speech. Oh.my.god. Amazing. Everyone loved it. Really. It started out rocky because he tried to make jokes, which in the context of the entire speech fit beautifully. He did exactly what Jerome failed at, delivering an uplifting message to his peers through his own words. Albeit, those were some very gay-friendly words, but it was nonetheless amazing. He referenced top model, mean girls, sex and the city, and everything that affected him as a student and how it helped him get to number 2 in his class, and what he plans to do in his future to continue to be successful. It was a moving, and heartfelt speech. And any guy who shouts out his boyfriend in front of a crowd full of parents is awesome in my book.

Let it be known that was just a portion of the craziness. The rest of the day need not be discussed, I dont even want to remember it.
